Ali Soyode has without any doubt, showed that with hard work, one can achieve success; and has created the awareness that the youths can achieve success if they genuinely work towards it. He has turned challenges to opportunities. Always seeing opportunities especially where resources abound.
Ali Soyode is the Chairman of Europe’s 1st Ethnic Media Satellite Company. He has never contested any political post in Nigeria but has played a major role in the election processes in Nigeria for more than a decade; a feat he also showed and repeated in Europe. He is the former Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, an organisation responsible, corporately, for the well-being of more than 10 million professional Nigerians outside the country. He held the position from 2009 to 2011. Since then, he has been one of the elders of the organisation and founder of Nigerians in Diaspora Mentoring Corp as a continuous way of rendering mentoring services to Nigerian youths and energetic civilians. Alistair is on the board of many national and international organisations.
His parents met in the North as his mum is from there, born and attended primary and secondary schools in katsina, North-west Nigeria. Alistair completed his studies at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic in Agriculture and Irrigation Engineering. He is equally a Fellow of Institute of Public Administration and Local Government. He has reached the peak in his media industry and profession.
His career in media is what the story-writers tagged as amazing. Coming from a humble background and a greenhorn in media, he took up the challenge and becoming the first Black person to launch the first ethnic media-the only Black oriented television company and channel with the sole aim of correcting the negative stories about the black race, most especially his dear country Nigeria. That was in the dark-era of negative stories more than what is seen and heard. An African brand, now global, was launched in Europe.
Alistair is noted by CNN to be an icon of the nation when he was featured by CNN during Nigeria at 50th Golden jubilee independence celebrations. He is branded and reputed to have made his mark as the first in Africa and Black person who launched a media channel in the United Kingdom and Europe. His efforts and works are credited to have created an avenue for millions of black people to find their voices and be seen on international television.
To his credit are several achievements of innovative programmes and policies engaging Nigerians outside the country. He has participated in many events, conferences, seminars, workshops, amongst others, to market Nigeria’s opportunities to the world and using same to attract many back home to invest as well as be part and parcel of the nation’s developments.
Many have also described him as the best thing to have happened to Nigeria as an icon of what is good about Nigeria and her people. His network opened the broadcasting market to many black and Africa television channels in Europe now as well as broadcast platform for other tv to reach the diaspora viewers.
As an agriculturist, he has been in the think-tank of lifting the system into mechanised farming and has partnered many companies in remodelling the industry not only in Nigeria but outside her shores.
One thing that stands Alistair out is his simplicity and humility. A bridge builder. A man of the people, patriotic, knowledgeable with the mind of learning things as needed to galvanise and make our community united and stronger. He is young in Nigeria’s context, well travelled, has massive networks and knows what it takes to change things around wherever they are wanted with the best resources available or sourced.
He is the bridge. A man of the North and South. Fluent in few languages. Sporty, friendly, hospitable, flexible, accommodating, a technology proven person and creative in innovative ideas. He played a major role in giving the Nigerian Nollywood industry international awareness and well supportive to the emergence of many of Nigerian artistes and performers. In sport, acted as adviser to leading sport & football names especially in the Premier league. In his capacity has met many global leaders. He is listed among Africa’s top 100 personalities for 2018
Our people will feel a positive energy to become bridge builders thereby making Nigeria stands out among the top achieving nations in the world.
